The Presidential Library has created an electronic collection dedicated to the rich literary legacy of Huseyn Javid—a prominent figure in Azerbaijani literature, poet, playwright, and thinker—within the “Literary Heritage” subsection of the “Collections” section.

As a founder of Azerbaijani Romanticism, Huseyn Javid made significant contributions to national literature by drawing on Eastern poetic traditions and the achievements of global Romanticism. His works reflect universal themes of the individual and society, freedom and justice, love and spirituality, and good and evil with philosophical depth and high artistic mastery. The poet's philosophical lyrics, verse tragedies, and historical dramas hold a unique place in Azerbaijani literature.

The collection presents Huseyn Javid’s poems, long poems, dramatic works, and other materials reflecting various aspects of his creative output. Works such as “Iblis,” “Iblis’s Revenge,” “The Prophet,” “Topal Teymur,” and “Khayyam” reflect the artist’s humanistic ideals, his approach to the human spiritual realm, and his reflections on the philosophical essence of life. His dramaturgy, distinguished by vivid characters and profound ideological content, represents an important stage in the development of Azerbaijani theatrical culture.

Alongside his literary heritage, Huseyn Javid’s life journey holds a special place in the national memory. The repatriation of the remains of the artist—a victim of Soviet repressions—from Siberia (Russian Federation) to Azerbaijan in 1982, initiated by National Leader Heydar Aliyev, and his subsequent burial in Nakhchivan stand as a significant manifestation of respect for his memory.

The electronic collection is a valuable resource for researchers and literature lovers seeking to explore various aspects of Huseyn Javid's work and to delve deeper into his role in the development of Azerbaijani literature. The collection's materials support investigating the artist's artistic and philosophical legacy, the core characteristics of his creativity, and the preservation of his literary heritage for future generations.
