About Project

The digital project titled “Armenian Vandalism Against the Monuments of Azerbaijan”, prepared in Azerbaijani, Russian, and English, aims to systematically present to the international community the destructive policy carried out by Armenia against the material and cultural heritage of Azerbaijan during the occupation period. Through this project, the destruction and annihilation of numerous historical and cultural monuments located in the formerly occupied territories, as well as the falsification and Armenization of a significant number of these monuments, are comprehensively highlighted on the basis of extensive materials and photographic evidence. The digital resource provides photographs depicting the condition of more than 200 out of approximately 800 monuments located in the territories subjected to occupation during the Armenia–Azerbaijan conflict, showing them both before and after occupation, along with detailed descriptions of these monuments. The monuments are systematized according to categories of international, national, and local significance, and are classified into architectural monuments, archaeological monuments, historical-architectural reserves, and monumental and memorial structures.
