About Project

The digital project serves as a valuable resource for researchers studying the historical legacy of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic (ADR), which existed for 23 months between 1918 and 1920 and entered history as the first secular and democratic state in the Muslim East. Comprising 8 sections and 29 subsections, the digital resource provides a detailed presentation of major historical processes and events that occurred on the eve of the establishment of the Republic and throughout its period of existence. The project offers extensive information on the formation, activities, state symbols and attributes of the ADR, as well as its founders, while systematizing various types of materials such as e-books, e-articles, maps, and photographic archives. The “Documents” section includes the Declaration of Independence, the law on the establishment of the Parliament, the decision concerning the dissolution of the ADR, as well as decrees, resolutions, speeches, and appeals related to the Republic’s period. The “Bibliography” section presents the bibliographic entries of articles, books, and author abstracts pertinent to the subject.
