Among the rich and valuable resources of the Presidential Library, a special place is occupied by the Fund of rare literature, which has once again attracted attention due to new and unique editions included in the virtual collection.

Unique editions of the late 19th - early 20th century, stored in the Fund of rare literature of the library, continue to be presented to the wider public. The presentation collection, consisting of five valuable books, includes works covering the areas of literature, history, and art. Among them are such precious editions as “Album Deutscher Lyrik. Lieder und Romanzen” (“Album of German Lyrics. Songs and Romances”), “Le Diamant Vert” (“The Green Diamond”), “Sindbad le Marin” (“Sindbad the Sailor”), “La Bande Arlequin” (“The Harlequin Band”), as well as the book “История евреев от древнейших времён до настоящего” (“History of the Jews: From the Earliest Times to the Present”) published in 1908.

These books, published in Russian, French, German, and English, draw attention not only with their content, but also with their rare typographic style, aesthetic design, and bibliographic value, representing outstanding examples of book art.

Each edition is accompanied by annotations prepared in the Azerbaijani, Russian, and English languages, making this heritage more accessible to readers speaking different languages.

Such updates to the Rare Books Fund collection are a continuation of the purposeful activities of the Presidential Library in preserving unique examples of national and world cultural heritage, their scientific popularization, and virtual presentation to a wide audience. This initiative is also an important step towards bringing the richness of the Presidential Library’s fund to society and transmission of rare cultural heritage monuments to future generations.
