The Presidential Library has prepared a virtual exhibition to mark October 4 – Jabrayil City Day.

On October 4, 2020, as a result of military operations conducted by the Azerbaijani Army, the city of Jabrayil and nine villages of the district were liberated from occupation. Liberating the city of Jabrayil was one of the most significant military achievements of the first week of the Patriotic War. In his address to the nation that day, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev hailed the liberation of the city of Jabrayil as a historic event and emphasized the significance of the Victory, noting that a city and district center had been liberated within the very first week of the war.

The exhibition includes publications covering the history of Jabrayil and Garabagh as a whole; the Patriotic War and the chronicle of Victory; the socio-economic and environmental development and demographic characteristics of the liberated territories; their historical and cultural heritage; and the crimes committed during the occupation and the damage inflicted on cultural heritage. The publications present research on the history, settlements, material and spiritual culture, folklore, historical monuments, and toponyms of the Jabrayil district; the chronicle and historical-political outcomes of the Patriotic War; the restoration of Garabagh; and the economic and environmental development of the liberated territories. In addition to books in Azerbaijani, Russian, English, and French, the exhibition also displays bibliographic indexes and photo albums.

The virtual exhibition explores the historic liberation of the city of Jabrayil, the course of the Patriotic War, and Garabagh's historical and cultural heritage. The exhibition materials are intended for a broad readership interested in the subject, as well as researchers in history, Garabagh studies, military affairs, economics, ecology, and cultural heritage.
