The Presidential Library has prepared a virtual book exhibition “May 28 - Independence Day” for the Independence Day of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The virtual exhibition is dedicated to the events of 1918, one of the important stages in the history of Azerbaijan's independence. The exhibition presents books devoted to the formation of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, the process of state building, legal and political reforms, as well as steps taken in the sphere of the international relations.

The purpose of the exhibition is to bring to the general public the rich heritage of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, which occupies an important place in the history of statehood, as well as to contribute to the education of the younger generation and the preservation of national memory.

The electronic resource “Azerbaijan Democratic Republic” created on May 26, 2014 by the staff of the Presidential Library is also dedicated to this topic. This resource is a reliable and valuable source for researchers of the rich heritage of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, which operated from 1918 to 1920 and entered history as the first secular democratic state in the Muslim East.
