On December 18, 2023, as part of a visit to Azerbaijan, Deputy Director of the National Library of Tajikistan Zafar Saidov and Head of the Department of Automation of Library Science Khoja Akbari visited the Presidential Library. The guests were accompanied by Deputy Director of the Presidential Library Kamala Sarijalinskaya and Head of the Sector of the Library and Bibliographic Services Sonakhanym Abasova. The guests got acquainted with the hall of the art books collection, the reading hall, the internet hall, the lending section, as well as the rare books collection and the conference hall. Guests were shown the website of the Presidential Library and given detailed information about the history of the library and projects constantly updated by library staff. During the discussions, it was decided to establish closer cooperation between the two libraries, the exchange of periodicals, as well as books on the socio-political life, economics and culture of our countries.
 

On 7-8 December 2023 Sonakhanim Abasova, Senior Consultant, Head of the Library-Bibliographic Services Section of the Presidential Library, took part in the international conference “Information Culture and Information Technologies: The Role of Presidential Libraries” dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the Presidential Library of the Republic of Belarus, in Minsk.
The conference was attended by representatives of presidential libraries of Azerbaijan, Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, public officials of the Republic of Belarus, figures of science and culture.
The conference participants emphasised the importance of the issues raised at the conference and the continuation of mutual cooperation. S. Abasova made a special report at the conference and presented the books “Ilham Aliyev – Victorious Follower of the Great Path” to the fund of the Presidential Library of Belarus. S. Abasova presented the books “Ilham Aliyev – Victorious Follower of the Great Path”, “Karabakh – by the Roads of Victory” and an Azerbaijani carpet (souvenir) to the fund of the Presidential Library of Belarus.
For the conference participants there were also organised interesting excursions to the Presidential Library of the Republic of Belarus, the National Library, the Museum of Modern Belarusian Statehood, the Belarusian State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War.
 

On 23 November 2023, Arif Şayık, Head of the Library of Grand National Assembly (Büyük Millet Meclisi Kütüphanesi), also known as the Library of Parliament or TBMM Library, visited the Presidential Library. Arif Şayık and his accompanying guests viewed the exhibitions organised in the Art Literature Hall, the Great Reading Room, the Rare Book Collection and the Conference Hall of the Library. A photo exhibition dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Heydar Aliyev – “A legitimate leader of Azerbaijan who glorified Azerbaijan over the world” in the Electronic Resources Hall aroused great interest of the guests.
The meeting discussed issues of organisation of library and bibliographic services in state administration bodies, creation of electronic library of publications in the languages of Turkic peoples, strengthening ties between libraries, exchange of books, exchange of experience and other issues of mutual interest.

On August 21-25, 2023, director of the Presidential Library Mayil Ahmadov and head of the Software Group, lead consultant Tunjay Huseynzade took part in the 88th IFLA World Library and Information Congress (WLIC) in Rotterdam, the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
More than 3,000 guests from 100 countries took part in the conference. At the event, our country, along with the Presidential Library, was also represented by representatives of ADA and UNEC universities. The guests were greeted by Princess Laurentien of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, IFLA President Barbara Lison, Minister of Education, Culture and Science Robbert Dijkgraaf and other officials. Speakers at the conference called for joint discussion of new ideas and increased cooperation towards the future goals of libraries for sustainable development, putting forward the slogan "Let's work together! Let's library". During the panel sessions, detailed discussions took place on the global library work, interlibrary cooperation, the availability of library resources, publishing work, virtual archives and library services, the use of information technology and artificial intelligence in library work.
Representatives of the Presidential Library also visited the Rotterdam City Library and donated rare publications of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation on the history, art, and music of our country to this rich library. Meetings were also held at the National Library of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in The Hague, the Koninklijke City Library in The Hague, the Zuidplein Library in Rotterdam, and the Library of the Rotterdam Maritime Museum. They got acquainted with the methods of work of these libraries, discussed the possibilities of cooperation and exchange of experience.

On November 22, 2021, the international experts Natalia Golovko and Angela Sokhirka, making the Environmental Performance Review of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) for developing member countries, visited the Presidential Library of the Administrative Department of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, the guests were mostly interested in the activities of the Presidential Library in the field of environmental education and got acquainted with the electronic resources developed in this field. The guests were informed about the "Ecology of Azerbaijan" documentation and information resource and the "Ecology" information bulletin compiled by the library staff, and their relevant questions were answered by the specialists. International experts, pleased with the meeting, said they would give information about the meeting in their reports.

On January 24, 2020, Director of International Activities of the All-Russia State Library for Foreign Literature named after M. I. Rudomino Svetlana Gorokhova, Director of Scientific and Educational activities of the All-Russia State Library for Foreign Literature named after M. I. Rudomino Tatyana Polejayeva, Coordinator of the Center for Conservation and Protection for CIS and East European Countries Mariya Kolpakova, Director General of the IPR books Natalya Ivanova, Project Coordinator of the IPR books Vita Kutuyeva on arriving in Baku visited the Presidential Library. During the meeting, the participants spoke about the modernization of library services, application of modern information technologies in libraries, automation of the library processes, electronic library, electronic catalog, also the opportunities of virtual bibliographic service. At the end of the meeting, the guests were presented with the album-books "Carpets of Azerbaijan" and women’s silk headscarf kelaghayi, inscribed on the Representative List of UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The guests in their turn, donated the specific examples of publications of the establishments they represent to the Presidential Library.

On August 20, 2019, Presidential Library of Administrative Department of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan hosted a representative of the Iravan khans Amir Ali Sardari Iravani. The event was opened by the director of the library Mayil Ahmadov, who noted that the history of the Iravan khanate is an integral part of the material and spiritual culture of the Azerbaijani people for thousands of years. Introducing the guest, the director said that Amir Ali Sardari Iravani is a representative of the Iravan khans who lives in Germany. The flourishing of Iravan as a city falls during the period of the rule of Huseyn Ali Khan and his children. To date, the only historical and architectural monument in Yerevan is more than 250 years old the Blue Mosque Complex. This complex was built during the period of Huseyn Ali Khan in 1760-1765. In the speech he made, Amir Ali underlined that the city of Iravan was built by Azerbaijani Turks. He also gave the detailed information about the genealogy of the descendants of Huseyn Ali Khan, their place of residence and emphasized the importance of intergenerational relations.

On June 25, 2019, the delegation headed by Amerkhan Rakhimjanov, the director of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – the Leader of the Nation, visited the Presidential Library. Director of Presidential Library Mayil Ahmedov gave detailed information to the guests about the works done and emphasized the importance of such meetings in the expansion of cooperation and exchange of experience between the libraries. Head of the delegation A. Rakhimjanov informed the participants about the works done by the library staff headed by him. Heads of the libraries came to an agreement on expansion of cooperation and implementation of joint projects.

On May 6, 2019, the employees of the Belarusian Presidential Library – Head of the branch of the Belarusian Presidential Library in Presidential Palace of the Republic of Belarus Tatyana Lichagina and Fund Manager Natalia Mizovchova visited the Presidential Library. Guests and the leading specialists of the Library had a business meeting. During the meeting, the sides interchanged views on the activities of both Presidential Libraries and it was emphasized that the mutual exchange of experience would have a beneficial effect. The guests were shown around the library stocks and reading halls. At the end of the meeting the guests were presented with gifts.

On December 12, 2018, Kunslu Serikovna İsinova, head of social, humanitarian and educational projects service of the Library of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – the Leader of the Nation and Akbota Kamoyovna Xamitova, the leading expert of that service visited the Presidential Library. During the meeting in the Conference Hall, the guests and leading experts of the library exchanged detailed information on the activity directions of the both Presidential Libraries and emphasized the importance of benefiting from mutual experience in drafting new projects.

On March 19, 2018, former IFLA President Ms. Ingrid Parent visited the Presidential Library. Ms. Parent accentuated the importance of establishing contacts and cooperation between the libraries of Azerbaijan and Canada, and said that she would act in this direction after returning to her home country. Later, the guest wrote her impressions and wishes to the library staff on the Visitors’ Book. At the end of the meeting, Director of the library Mayil Ahmedov presented the Canadian guest with the books about history and culture of Azerbaijan.

On February 28, 2018, famous British researcher and writer Graham Wilson visited Presidential Library. The purpose of this visit to Azerbaijan was to collect material about the history of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic for the book he authored. Director of the library Mayil Ahmedov informed the guest about the English versions of electronic editions “Azerbaijan Democratic Republic” and “Azerbaijan. State symbols and attributes G. Wilson expressed his satisfaction with cooperation with the Presidential Library and highly appreciated the works done in the library.

On April 14, 2017, album pamphlet about the interview of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to Sputnik International News Agency was presented by the Head of the Sputnik Azerbaijan Aziz Aliyev to the Director of the Presidential Library Mayil Ahmadov. The album pamphlet was prepared based on the interview given by President Ilham Aliyev to Dmitry Kiselyov, Director General of the International Information Agency “Rossiya Segodnya”. During the meeting Aziz Aliyev spoke about the album and the materials it contains.

On January 18, 2017, famous French writer Gerard Cardonne visited the Presidential Library within the framework of his trip to Azerbaijan. As the writer was working on a novel dedicated to the Azerbaijani woman he was interested in the books about the prominent women public, cultural figures and scientists also got acquainted with the library holdings of Rare Books, Art and Foreign Literature. Being satisfied by visiting the library Gerard Cardonne wrote his best wishes on the Visitors' Book of the library.

On October 18, 2016, Head of the Egyptian Cultural Centre in Azerbaijan Ahmed Sami visited the Presidential Library. The guest congratulating the library staff on the 25th anniversary of state independence of Azerbaijan got acquainted with the library and its electronic resources. At the end of the meeting Ahmed Sami was presented with publications about the history, culture and music of Azerbaijan donated to the library of the Cultural Centre.

On July 12, 2016, the representatives of the OCLC (Online Computer Library Center) Sezen Tan, Dr. Sinan Tan and Catherine Fureti visited the Presidential Library. Global activities of the world's libraries within the OCLC, as well as the possibilities for cooperation in order to join the Worldcat system - World Catalogue were discussed during the meeting.

On May 15, 2015, head of the material provision of the Chief Directorate of Libraries and Broadcasting within the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Culture, Ender Gungor visited the Presidential Library. During the meeting, negotiations were held on cooperation with Presidential Library for obtaining books and periodicals published in Turkey. The guest got acquainted with the work of library and gave books as a gift.

On April 6, 2015, Driss Khrouz, Director of the National Library of Morocco, visited the Presidential Library on a visit to Azerbaijan. Director of the Presidential Library M. Ahmedov spoke about the activities, successes and international contacts of the library and noted that the meeting would lay the foundation for closer ties between the two libraries. He expressed the importance of inter-library relations and made his suggestions about forms of cooperation noticing the possibility of exchanging books and bibliographic resources, exchanging experience, holding seminars and conferences, and organizing book exhibitions in both libraries, respectively. During the meeting with the library staff, Driss Khrouz gave detailed information about the National Library of Morocco and spoke about the digitization of the library resources and the application of information technologies.

On July 13, 2014, the staff of the Khasavyurt Central City Library named after Rasul Hamzatov of the Republic of Dagestan visited the Presidential Library. The guests were informed in detail about the library and information services provided to readers in the Reading Rooms, Electronic Resources Hall, Conference Hall of the Presidential Library. It was decided to cooperate closely on issues facing libraries in modern times, especially in the field of digitization of the library stock. During the meeting, the library staff of Khasavyurt CCL got acquainted with the experience of the Presidential Library and exchanged views on modern forms of library and information services. The guests presented books about the history and culture of Dagestan to the Presidential Library.

On June 12, 2014, Mustafa Serin, Director of the Library and Information Center of Bilecik Sheikh Adabali University in Turkey, visited the Presidential Library. The guest was informed about the electronic resources of the Presidential Library, library automation and digitization of the stock. It was noted that such meetings are of great importance for studying the experience of Turkish libraries and increasing cooperation. During the meeting, the RFID implementation in the library automation was discussed at length. It was agreed to exchange experiences in this area in the future.

On November 25, 2013, Leonard Kniffel, former editor and publisher of American Libraries magazine, visited the Presidential Library. The guest got acquainted with the activities of the Presidential Library, the library stock, reading rooms and electronic resources. During the meeting there was an exchange of views on the problems of development of modern libraries. L. Kniffel expressed interest in the library work and its dynamic development in Azerbaijan in recent years.

On September 26, 2013, attendee of the 27th Annual Meeting of the Conference of European National Libraries held in Baku, Director General of the Boris Yeltsin Presidential Library of the Russian Federation Alexander Vershinin visited the Presidential Library. First, the guest got acquainted with the collections and work principle of Presidential Library and gave detailed information about his library to his colleagues. Alexander Vershinin noted that the Boris Yeltsin Presidential Library, founded in St. Petersburg in 2007, is funded by the Federal budget and is one of the three libraries in Russia with the status of national library. Alexander Vershinin further stated that the library collections of Boris Yeltsin Presidential Library mainly consist of rare historical documents and books, previously restricted archival documents, decrees of the tsarist period, audio and video records, etc. Director of the Presidential Library Mayil Ahmedov informed his colleague about the work done in the library, the electronic resources compiled over the past 10 years and stressed that the exchange of experience is an important factor for further improvement of the library work. At the end of the meeting, the guest was presented with a souvenir.

On September 26, 2013, Suna Gercik, Chairperson of the Eurasian Librarians’ Association, and Ekrem Ishik, Deputy Chairman, met with the Presidential Library staff. The meeting stressed the importance of cooperation between the leading libraries of Turkic-speaking countries in the field of innovative practices within this international organization and supported the idea of creating a single electronic library of Turkic-speaking peoples. During the meeting, talks were held with the Presidential Library on the purchase of books and periodicals published in Turkey. The guests got acquainted with the activities of the library and donated books on the history and culture of Turkey to the library stock.

On September 25, 2013, Renaldas Gudauskas, Director General of the Martynas Mazvydas National Library of the Republic of Lithuania, visited the Presidential Library. The Director General noted that the meeting with the staff of the Presidential Library was very productive. The guest was informed in detail about the activities of the Presidential Library. At the end of the meeting, the libraries agreed to cooperate and signed a memorandum of understanding. It was noted that this memorandum would be very useful for readers of both libraries. The memorandum emphasizes the importance of exchange of electronic resources and preservation of documents.

On December 3, 2012, Antonia Arahova, Deputy Director of the National Library of Greece, visited the Presidential Library. After getting acquainted with the collections, reading rooms and electronic resources of the Presidential Library, the guest met with the library staff. At the meeting it was noted that the current state of information technology is a good basis for close interlibrary cooperation. The guest expressed an interest in cooperation with Azerbaijani libraries, especially the Presidential Library, and noticed that it would be a good opportunity for readers in both countries.

On November 5, 2012, Stuart Hamilton, Ari Katz and Irina Trushina, the participants of the International Internet Governance Forum held in Baku, met with representatives of the Azerbaijani libraries at the Presidential Library. The meeting, held within the framework of the International Forum, focused on uninterrupted access of libraries to the global Internet and innovative application of information technology to the work of libraries. The meeting was held in the form of a dialogue. It was noted that such discussions are generally conducive to further cooperation.

On March 12, 2012, a delegation led by Ekaterina Yurievna Genieva, Director General of the All-Russia State Library for Foreign Literature named after M.I. Rudomino, met with the Presidential Library staff. The guests first got acquainted with the art literature collection of the library, Internet Hall, Reading Room and rare books collection. Then, discussions on bilateral cooperation, exchange of experience, implementation of new technologies, book exchange were held in the Conference Hall with the participation of leading specialists of both libraries. Director of the Presidential Library Mayil Ahmedov informed the guests about the library and answered their questions. Director General of the All-Russia State Library for Foreign Literature E. Y. Genieva, Executive Director G. A. Petrov, Deputy Director A. S. Gorokhova spoke about their library, experience in the restoration of rare books, made suggestions on bilateral relations and areas of cooperation in acquisition of new publications, also presented four new books from the series "Open Shelf" of their own publication to the Presidential Library.

On February 14, 2012, a delegation led by the Director General of the Russian State Library Alexander Visly visited the Presidential Library as part of a visit to our country. Director of the Presidential Library Mayil Ahmedov informed the guests about the work done and stressed that the cooperation between our libraries had become very productive. An agreement was reached to further expand the forms of cooperation in the future. Giving information about the history, structure and vast collections of the Russian State Library, Alexander Visly spoke about the work done in the field of creating electronic resources with copyright protection. The questions and suggestions of the Presidential Library staff about the electronic library, electronic resources, library automation, the development of electronic versions of rare books were answered by the guests. At the end, the guests were presented with a book about the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and a souvenir.

On November 5, 2011, a meeting was held at the Presidential Library with a delegation led by Rain van Haldropi, CIS Coordinator for OCLC (Online Computer Library Center), on "OCLC: Membership and Services in the New Era". Specialists on information, cataloging and library automation exchanged views in the meeting attended by the international experts in the field of librarianship. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the integration of the Presidential Library into the global information space. OCLC specialists undertook a commitment to take measures to eliminate any possible problems in this area. It was agreed to hold such meetings in the future as well.

On September 14, 2011, the Director General of the National Library of the Czech Republic Tomas Bohm and the Director of the National Museum in Prague Michal Lukes visited the Presidential Library. The guests were informed about the library and took a tour through the library collections and reading rooms. The guests were especially interested in the rare books collection. During the meeting it was noted that the National Library of the Czech Republic contains books about Azerbaijan as well. The guests stated their intention to organize an exhibition of Nizami Ganjavi's works in Prague in the future. During the meeting it was noted that the collection of the National Library The guests expressed satisfaction with the meeting at the Presidential Library.

On November 25, 2008, Ellen Tise, President of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA), visited the Presidential Library. Ms. Ellen Tise got acquainted with the statecraft, country studies, socio-political, law, economics, art, literary criticism, linguistics sections of the Presidential Library stock. The guest saw the library environment and the activities of the departments. Ms. Ellen Tise spoke positively about this center of science and culture. She stressed that she would do her best to promote the Azerbaijani libraries in IFLA at the next conference and to favor cooperation in all areas. During the meeting, E. Tise answered the questions of journalists and the library staff. She noted that she was overwhelmed by the kindness and hospitality of the Azerbaijani people.

On March 18, 2008, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Azerbaijan V. Istratov presented books to Presidential Library. The ambassador was informed that the Presidential Library compiles and presents factual electronic resources on the history, economy, culture, art of Azerbaijan, foreign and domestic policy of the head of state, the rich heritage of the national leader Heydar Aliyev. V. Istratov noted that the great classics of Russian literature, which promote universal values such as humanism, love, spiritual perfection, have always been readable. In this regard, the large collection donated by the Russian side will add to the library's collection. Ambassador V. Istratov also noticed that the books are donated to the Presidential Library for the first time and experience shows that they will find their readers. According to him, the list of books is based on formal logic. And the future cooperation will be based on the principle of supply and demand. At the end of the event, V. Istratov was presented with new books about the life and activities of national leader Heydar Aliyev. Ambassador also got acquainted with the Presidential Library stock.

On December 27, 2007, the Presidential Library hosted a meeting with Ismail Serageldin, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina of the Arab Republic of Egypt. During the working visit to Azerbaijan, Ismail Serageldin visited the Presidential Library. The guest was given detailed information about the establishment and activities of the Presidential Library. I. Serageldin was also informed about the structure of the library, the projects implemented here, full text electronic publications, electronic bibliographic indexes and information bulletins compiled by the library. The guest also visited the book exhibition "Azerbaijani-Egyptian literary studies at a new stage" put on in the library.

On March 30, 2007, the Minister of Special Assignments for e-Government of the Republic of Latvia, Mrs. Ina Gudele, and her entourage visited the Presidential Library. The guest toured the halls of the library and viewed the exhibitions here. He expressed interest in the exhibits in the corner dedicated to March 31 - the Day of the Genocide of Azerbaijanis and said that I understand you well because we also experienced such an event. Then, during the round table meeting, the guests were given detailed information about the library. Ina Gudele noted that there is no such library in the country and did not hide her admiration for the work done here. The Latvian minister showed great interest in the system of automation of library processes, the application of modern information technologies in the library, and stressed the importance of book exchange. The library specialists answered the questions of the guests. Ina Gudele wrote her heartfelt words in the guest book and presented a book about Latvia to the library. The guest was presented with books about the Khojaly genocide and Azerbaijan.

On June 27, 2006, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev visited the Presidential Library. After seeing the rare books collection, library-bibliographic service and reading rooms of the library, the President took an interest in cataloging of the library stock and replenishing it with electronic publications. The President was informed that the E-publications include the speeches, statements, interviews of national leader Heydar Aliyev during his presidency in 1993-2003, as well as speeches and interviews of President Ilham Aliyev at various events since October 2003. E-publications also contain the materials reflecting the most important areas of socio-political and cultural life of our country. The President of Azerbaijan offered advice on further enrichment of the library stock, also strengthening the material and technical basis of the library.
